Business Card Holder

There is something special about taking a piece of wood that has already lived a life and giving it a new purpose. That was the inspiration behind this handcrafted business card holder.

From start to finish, this piece was created from repurposed oak—wood that once served another purpose and now has the opportunity to make a new and lasting impression. The rich grain, warm color, and character of aged oak provide a timeless backdrop for a design that is both practical and elegant.

Every cut, sanding pass, and finish was done by hand in my workshop. The holder is designed to display business cards at an inviting angle while showcasing the natural beauty of the wood itself. To make the piece more unique, the Carriage House Woodshop branding was burned into the front using pyrography, a traditional wood-burning technique that permanently etches the design into the wood rather than simply applying it to the surface.

I enjoy creating items that are not only functional but also tell a story. This business card holder represents craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the belief that quality materials—even repurposed ones—can be transformed into something beautiful and enduring.

This is the first of many business card holders that will be available through Carriage House Woodshop. Future designs will offer customization options, allowing businesses, craftsmen, and professionals to personalize their holders with names, logos, or custom designs that reflect their own identity and style.
